Not got Call Of Duty 4 yet? No time like the present!

In the festive spirit of the season I thought I'd give you all a present....by which I mean I shall share some information with you all which could save you a bit of money. The highly acclaimed Call of Duty 4, released just over a month ago is for one week only on offer at GameStation in the UK.

The prices are as follow:

XBOX 360 - RRP: £49.99 - Sale Price: £24.99
Playstation 3: RRP: £49.99 - Sale Price: £24.99
Nintendo DS: RRP: £29.99 - Sale Price: £14.99

Call of Duty 4 which scooped a 94.4% rating for the XBOX 360 and 93.7% for the Playstation 3 (figures courtesy of GameRankings.com) offers a relatively short, but action packed campaign in addition to a full online mode with 13 game modes and 15 maps. As for the DS version, well that received 74%.

Crysis possible for consoles

One of Crytek's (FarCry) leaders, Cevat Yerli, resparked flame wars and rumour mills by confirming that Crysis, the Jessica Alba of video games, could be possible on the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 stating it would require optimization. There shouldn't be any argument as to if the consoles' graphics will be better since Crysis is the posterboy for DirectX 10. The consoles can only perform up to DirectX 9, although the Xbox 360 can handle some DX10 features.

As for those of you waiting for a Wii version, the best you can get is the Sarah Jessica Parker version.

That's the official site. There's nothing much on it except for a brief view of what looks like an African savanna. No more tropical islands where the enemies can snipe you from 2 miles away anymore. Now the lions snipe you.

Gears of War on PC?

This is the supposed PC Gears of War footage. I'm skeptical because it still displays the Xbox 360 buttons in the context icons. Still, new stuff.

What the hell? They're advertising in a place where people only look at the number for less than 10 seconds and then never touch again? Actually, better yet: they're adveristing in the achievements?! You mean shouting out the name, putting pictures of the product and placing them in the music isn't enough?

Is Shadowrun worth $60?

Recently, FASA's studio manager Mitch Gitelman said in OXM's podcast that "the reviews on Shadowrun suck my ass." Yeah, this stuff is old, but here's a comment on it after the hit.

The ESRB has now given Manhunt 2 an AO rating, as in Adults Only. This means that the game will not be sold in any major retailer seeing as how they've all got policies against selling any of the (now) 24 games marketed towards adults.

Interestingly, there's no reason why it's rated AO. The ESRB saw fit not to divulge that information. Smooth, idiots.

Madden NFL '07 wins SpikeTV award

Proving once again to be the Grammy awards of the gaming industry, SpikeTV awards their Game of the Year award to the same series that has been making the same piece of crap for the last decade or so. It wouldn't have been so bad if it weren't for the fact that Madden was among one of the worst games of last year and has always been the worst football sim game for years.Thank God/Allah/Flying Spaghetti Monster the SpikeTV awards are a joke and nobody gives a flying shit about them.
